Marvin Meier, Wausau – passed away on March 20, 2020.  Marv served as WWOA’s President from 2001-03 and on WWOA’s Board of Directors from 1999-2005.  As President, Marv led WWOA through the many changes made to the Managed Forest Law program in 2002 with AB 323, the creation of WWOA’s gift membership program, and the publication of the 100 Years of Wisconsin Forestry book in partnership with WI DNR.  As a retired forester, he greatly…

George Sheppard Jr., Menomonie – passed away March 14, 2020.  Retired WI DNR and Dunn County forester and active WWOA Chippewa Valley Chapter member.  In 2014, WI DNR presented him with the Friend of Forestry award.

Fay Mueller, White Lake – passed away February 14, 2020.  Fay was the daughter of Carl & Doris Mueller and sister/sister-in-law to Karen & David Callaway.  A celebration of life will be held at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 907 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska, WI from 4 – 7 p.m.

June Kingsbury, Mountain – passed away January 31, 2020.  June loved the outdoors and enjoyed attending many Annual Meetings and Phoenix Falls Chapter events with her husband, Jim, when she was in good health.  Visitation services are scheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from 1 p.m.

Robert Olson, Seeley – passed away June 22, 2019.  Robert “Bob” served as a WWOA Board Member from 1995-1998.  He was the founding President of the WWOA Northwest Chapter.  Noted in foreign affairs circles in his own right, Bob’s passion for his woodland came from his father, Sigurd Olson.  Sigurd was a noted American author, environmentalist, and advocate for the protection of wilderness.  In 1998, Bob created the Listening Point Foundation in Ely, MN to…
