Richard “Dick” Camp, Boscobel…age 90, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Soldiers Grove nursing Home in Soldiers Grove, WI, surrounded by his family.
He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry, in 1955, where he met his wife, Connie. Dick served in the Air Force as a helicopter pilot. In 1959, after leaving the service, Dick took a job in Tomahawk, WI as a forester due to his pilot skills. Then he became the Rock County and subsequently Grant County forester. In 1972, he became the Plant Manager at the Wilson State Nursery. During his 21 years at the nursery, he led the plant and shipped over 126 million trees.
Dick and Connie raised 13 children and were leading members of the Catholic Church in Boscobel and always busy running the 360-acre family tree farm, Gerard Acres. Dick loved forestry and spending time on their tree farm. He was an avid hunter and fisherman including leading hunter’s safety classes for over 30 years. He enjoyed teaching his kids everything about the outdoors. He loved his family dearly.
