NW Wisconsin hit by July 11 Storms

NW Wisconsin woodland owners, especially those not living on their land, are encouraged to check with their woodland neighbors, friends, forester or personally check their land after the devastating storms hit the area on the evening of Monday, July 11.

Governor Scott Walker declared a State of Emergency for eight counties: Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Price, Sawyer and Washburn.  Some areas received 8-12 inches of rain within a few hours of time.  Many state highways and other roads were damaged or washed out and Saxon Harbor in Iron County was destroyed.
