New Year’s Resolution: Get More Involved!

Make your New Year’s Resolution to be more involved in WWOA!

Anyone who has a passion for woodlands in Wisconsin can ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy the beauty and utility of the woodlands by volunteering with us. WWOA will show volunteers how to work with private landowners to encourage sustainable forestry and all related resources in Wisconsin.

One of the purposes of WWOA is to develop public appreciation of the value of Wisconsin Woodlands and the importance of woodlands in the economy and overall welfare of Wisconsin. WWOA needs your help in fulfilling THAT purpose!

If you’ve been thinking about New Year’s resolution, think about getting more involved with us. It’s a great way to give back to your community, AND live a healthier lifestyle. That’s TWO resolutions in one!  The Corporation for National & Community Service reported that “…those who volunteer have lower mortality rates, greater functional ability, and lower rates of depression later in life than those who do not volunteer. In addition to those benefits includes: learning new skills, expanding your personal and professional networks, effect positive change, share your knowledge and unique skills, you can create tighter family bonds when you volunteer together, and you can be the change you wish to see in the world.

Come make your New Year’s Resolution with us, we will help you along the way! Check out the different volunteer opportunities that WWOA has by visiting the Volunteer Opportunities page.

If you have any further questions, contact our  Volunteer Coordinator, Sue.

WWOA’s dedicated volunteers worked over 1,200 hours in 2019.  We are so incredibly grateful for all of the AMAZING volunteers that WWOA has. THANK YOU to all of our volunteers!
